Blackthorn
Although the title of this design is Blackthorn, it prominently features Oxfordshire's county flower, the beautiful Snakeshead Fritillary. When Morris was alive the fields in Oxfordshire would've been full of Fritillaries. Sadly only a few sites are left and they have become rare in the wild. They flower from March to May. One of the best places to see them is Magdalen College and Iffley Meadows, Oxford.
