Hand Painted & Photomontage Jewellery
I make original jewellery by hand-painting wood, paper and card (often recycled), and using photomontage. Every necklace or set of earrings is unique. Colour and fine detail are essential to the work. My jewellery reflects the colours of the seasons, or can feature favourite locations and images which are important to individual wearers.
The feature beads are handmade from decorated card and photos, each one hand-rolled and finished with several coats of lacquer, leaving them highly durable and light to wear. The earring and necklace findings are sterling silver. I like to use images that reflect the area wherever I exhibit my work, for example in Oxford it may be images of the river with punts or houseboats, or stained glass windows from local churches. I can transform a photograph of a special place, or occasion into a personalised and original piece of jewellery - earrings, a brooch, a necklace, pendant or cufflinks. I can match colours to a specific outfit. Just email me if you would like something special and unique to you. I am a member of the Oxfordshire Craft Guild and sell my work through galleries and shops in Oxfordshire and beyond. My jewellery has been selected for International Design Competitions. My aim is to make pieces wearable and affordable. Prices from £22 to £150 (see Gallery page for detail). For more information contact 01993 880334, email rose.hallam@btopenworld.com |
“I have been wearing Rose Hallam jewellery for quite a few years now, and love the colours and highly original designs. Some of the montages remind me of Gustav Klimt’s work. It’s great to have such beautifully detailed hand-made jewellery at really affordable prices. Thank you, Rose.” Gill Thompson.
